the early 1990's Meyer did extensive research to improve our quality
for spinning applications. The result of this effort was our special
spinning quality MG-2. MG-2 quality grade is currently being used
successfully in some of the following applications: |

| Our
technical staff traveled extensively throughout the world to find
out from our customers what makes a good spinning quality. |

has learned that there are 2 very common material related problems
associated with metal spinning; looper lines and earing:
|
|
|
|
Looper lines-- are also referred
to as "roping" or "smile faces". They appear as parabolic shaped lines
after spinning. They look like a smile face. MG-2 is specifically
designed to control this defect. In addition, a sample is taken from
each production coil and tested for this defect.
Earing-- Earing
is also a common defect associated with the spinning process. It appears
as bumps (or ears) on the outside rim of the part after spinning.
MG-2 is designed to control earing to within 5%.
